Contract | Days | 5x8s or 4x10s | Every other weekend required | 13 or 26-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families through a consult-based service model
- Complete psychosocial assessments and develop person-centered discharge plans in alignment with policy and regulations
- Deliver brief clinical interventions, assist with resource navigation, and coordinate care across the care team
- Screen for suicidality and engage in safety planning as clinically appropriate
- Complete mandatory reports of harm in accordance with state statutes and coordinate with outside entities
- Collaborate closely with RN Case Managers and the broader care team to ensure safe and ethical discharge planning across Emergency Department, Children's, and Adult service areas
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska LMSW license required; candidates without a license in hand may apply for an Alaska temporary LMSW license
- Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of experience; acute care experience is required
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working within pediatric, PICU, NICU, or maternity care settings
- Familiarity with care management and interdisciplinary team collaboration in an inpatient environment
- Experience with safety planning and mandated reporting processes
