Registered Nurse – Critical Care / Emergency Department Float Pool

Key Responsibilities
- Float between multiple clinical units including ICU, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, Transitional Care, and Observation, with assignments determined on a shift-by-shift basis by the Clinical House Supervisor
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families, and conduct ongoing assessment and documentation of response to therapies
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy of care provided by other team members
- Facilitate the patient discharge process, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
- Identify and address patient and family educational needs based on prioritized problems and level of comprehension
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
- BLS certification (current)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Experience in either the Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU), along with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
- Ability to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across multiple clinical settings in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous nursing experience in a float pool or multi-unit capacity
- Strong critical-thinking skills and demonstrated clinical competence across diverse patient populations
