Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 8-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays | Expected 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including laboring, recovering the mother, and receiving and transitioning the newborn with full assessment
• Manage and monitor patients across LDRP, OBED, and NICU intermediate care settings with appropriate patient ratios (1:1 active labors/inductions/C-sections; couplet care 1:3; NICU intermediate 1:3)
• Assist with or support procedures including C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries
• Utilize documentation systems including Meditech and CPN Central Monitoring; operate unit equipment such as IV pumps, infant warmers, PCA pumps, bili-blankets, and tele-med robot
• Conduct daily patient rounding and SAFETY rounding in accordance with patient experience requirements
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications as required for unit practice

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience, including the ability to labor and recover the mother and receive and transition the newborn
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Fetal Monitoring training/certification required
• Experience with inductions including Pitocin and Cervidil administration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing OB emergencies including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage
• Familiarity with LDRP unit workflows encompassing labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn/NICU intermediate care
• Experience with CPN Central Monitoring and Meditech documentation systems
• Cross-training or experience floating between LDRP and NICU settings
