Contract | Nights (9:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x10 or 4x10 Hour Shifts | 7 On / 7 Off | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required | No On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens and perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in a clinical laboratory setting
• Perform quality control procedures, troubleshoot quality control errors, and conduct preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments
• Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Recognize normal and abnormal values and communicate technical findings to medical and non-medical personnel
• Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures and participate in continuing education
• Model standards of behavior in daily interactions; during hurricane season (June–November), contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or a relevant medical or scientific discipline
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or a relevant specialty lab certification
• Demonstrated experience in Chemistry (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Hematology highly preferred
• Familiarity with clinical laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting in a high-volume setting
• Prior travel or contract laboratory experience
