Travel Surgical Technologist – Certified (CST)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of surgical case, utilizing physician preference cards as a baseline
• Establishes and maintains the sterile field; passes instruments and sutures to the physician and assists as directed throughout surgical procedures
• Actively monitors and maintains aseptic technique, safe environment standards, proper traffic control, dress codes, and OR sanitation policies
• Prepares patient skin for surgery, positions patients according to procedure type, and transports patients to and from the OR suite
• Identifies, handles, and cares for biological specimens in accordance with facility standards
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment across a broad range of specialties including general OR, neuro, spine, ortho, robotics, and vascular

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or active LVN/LPN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience required (Level III)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Ability to proficiently scrub at least 3 specialty areas such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, or similar advanced specialties
• Experience across a broad range of OR service lines including neuro, spine, orthopedics, vascular, and robotic-assisted surgery
• Familiarity with decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies within a facility setting
