Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice and department policies
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; initiate appropriate interventions to address patient stress and discomfort
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders, discharge teaching, and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, core measures, and evidence-based practice initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across care team members
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and clinical applications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an emergency or acute care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
