Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 twelve-hour shifts per week | Expected 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule | Projected Start: October 12, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform and maintain skills including IV starts, basic wound care, management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Deliver attentive, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care including bedside shift report and involvement of patients and families in the plan of care
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy; contract labor is first to float on a rotation basis when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid and in good standing)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required as dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Post-Op or surgical Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and related equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families
