Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity 48-bed unit serving PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients at a target ratio of 1:4–5
• Monitor and manage patients with COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, PE, COVID-19, influenza, and related comorbidities
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, chronic trach/vent patients, and cardiac drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin); no nurse assigned more than one vent patient at a time
• Perform telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts, and respiratory support interventions
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Float to like units within the facility as needed; expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown setting
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with block scheduling and high-acuity mixed patient populations
• Familiarity with care for COVID-19 positive patients and those in respiratory distress
