Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas of the Emergency Psychiatric Services department
• Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care for patients ages 5 and up presenting with psychiatric illnesses
• Evaluate patient outcomes and identify available community and clinical resources
• Deliver care to patients with diagnoses including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and those seeking detoxification
• Collaborate as an essential member of the interdisciplinary patient care team
• Maintain current CPI training prior to start date

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (2-year) or higher required
• Valid State of Maine RN license required (candidates with licensure hits will not be considered)
• BLS Certification required
• CPI training must be current prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing required
• Flexibility to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with pediatric and adult psychiatric populations
• Familiarity with detoxification care and substance use patient populations
• Ability to manage stress appropriately and make sound decisions under pressure
