Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required | No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Manage short-stay patients with a length of stay under 24 hours in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as clinically indicated
• Document patient care accurately using the Cerner EMR system
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to maintain a patient ratio of 1:5, with stretch to 1:6 dependent on level of care
• Float to other units within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care / PCU setting
• Demonstrated telemetry competency — candidates without this skill will not be considered
• Progressive Care experience — candidates without this skill will not be considered
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care or step-down unit experience
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume inpatient environment
