Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
• Develop individualized care plans by identifying patient needs, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families, and implementing therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct ongoing assessments and document responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care activities performed by other team members
• Facilitate patient discharge by executing discharge orders in a timely manner, performing discharge teaching, and coordinating with Case Management and other disciplines as needed
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
