Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit under the highest level of professional licensure
• Monitor and assess patients with telemetry needs, applying knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Meditech charting system
• Manage a patient assignment with an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6
• Float to other units and facilities as needed to support staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license or valid Compact RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree minimum
• Minimum of 18 months of total RN experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry; 2 years of experience preferred
• Must be able to pass a Dysrhythmia Basic exam
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospital locations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of RN experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting
• Prior experience with Meditech electronic health records
• Comfort and flexibility working in varied unit environments
