Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | On-call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a 12-room operating room department serving a Level 3 trauma center
- Support a broad range of surgical service lines including general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN procedures
- Participate in on-call coverage, including up to 2 late call shifts per week (until 11:00 PM) and every 3rd to 4th weekend call
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols; a radiation badge must be supplied by the staffing agency prior to start — the facility does not provide radiation badges to travelers
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multistate/Compact RN license (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application or confirmation of ability to complete the SC walk-through process; clearance to report will not occur until the SC license is active)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room setting with a well-rounded, broad scope of specialty competency (general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN)
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at this facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial submission; time-off requests submitted after the fact will not be accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records charting system
- Experience working in a trauma center environment
- Broad surgical scrub and circulating competency across multiple service lines
