Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in an 8-bed Emergency Department with a daily census of approximately 60 patients
• Assess and manage a broad range of presentations including ACS, CVA/TIA, respiratory conditions, sepsis, diabetes-related emergencies, trauma and injuries, abdominal pain, behavioral health emergencies, neurological complaints, and common acute illnesses
• Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, IV insertion and maintenance, and administration of emergency medications
• Utilize EPIC for all clinical documentation and charting
• Float to community hospital ED units as needed; regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required — Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• Participate in weekend shifts as required based on vacancy needs; working lunches are standard practice

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license — no pending licenses accepted
• Kansas and Missouri RN licensure (or a compact license valid in both states) required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Proficiency in 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV therapy, and emergency medication administration
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing high-acuity and diverse emergency presentations in a fast-paced ED environment
• Prior experience charting in EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with 1:1 nurse-to-patient ED staffing models
