Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 shifts per week | Up to 3 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) per pay period | Holiday rotation required (one holiday per group: Thanksgiving Eve or Day | Christmas Eve or Day | New Year's Eve or Day)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 29-bed Emergency Department with daily patient volumes of approximately 120 patients
- Manage a patient assignment at a ratio of 3:1, or 4:1 as needed
- Care for inpatient boarders within the unit as required
- Adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach
- Work within a chest pain and primary stroke center environment, applying appropriate clinical protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active Kansas or Multi-State RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Conscious Sedation Competency required
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience within the last 12 months
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience working in a chest pain or stroke center environment
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system
- Comfort managing inpatient boarders and adapting to high-volume, fast-paced settings
