Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, schedule varies) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an acute cardiology med/surg unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients throughout the night shift
- Monitor cardiac patients and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
- Adhere to unit-specific protocols and facility expectations, including holiday coverage requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an acute cardiology or cardiac step-down setting
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and telemetry
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills in a fast-paced environment
