Contract | Nights, 7P–7A | Expected 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Surgical Trauma Stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 1:4 (1:5 max)
• Monitor and assess patients with surgical, neurological, and cardiac diagnoses including trauma surgery, TBI, CVA, CHF, sepsis, and pulmonary embolus
• Manage patients receiving IV drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and other vasoactive or cardiac medications
• Perform telemetry monitoring and complete patient assessments every 4 hours
• Care for pre- and post-operative patients across multiple surgical specialties including bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, and general surgery
• Float as needed to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care and Heart and Vascular units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Texas
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior trauma or orthopedic nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR
