Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (5:30 AM – 4:00 PM) | On-Call Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into cardiovascular, general, and neuro surgical cases serving adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations across a 12-OR suite
• Provide hands-on scrub technologist support throughout all phases of surgical procedures, maintaining sterile field integrity
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including approximately 2–3 call shifts per week and at least one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 24-hour coverage)
• Availability required during Christmas week as part of the contract schedule
• Document and chart using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Float within the hospital and within scope of practice as needed to support facility operations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR/surgical technologist experience; first-time travelers not accepted
• National certification required: NBSTSA (CST) or TS-C — NCCT certification is not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Active Maryland state license or Compact license — must be active and in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
• Demonstrated hands-on scrub experience required
• This is a tobacco-free facility; candidates must be nicotine-free and able to pass a nicotine/cotinine screen
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with cardiovascular surgical cases strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and flexible scheduling, including weekend availability
