School LVN/LPN
School Licensed Practical Nurse
Primary Purpose: The School Nurse promotes and protects the health and well-being of Excelsior Village Academies students and staff. The nurse will manage and coordinate the school health program, provide health care to students and staff, and act as a liaison between school personnel, family, community, and health care providers.Position Details:
- Location: Stockbridge, GA
- Pay: Starting at $30/hr
- Hours: 30hrs/wk
- Schedule: 10a-4p
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or beyond.
- Valid GA LPN License or Compact issued by the state.
- BLS Certifications required.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, community health, or school nursing.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct professional nursing services, including first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff according to professional standards of practice.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures according to physician orders and school policy.
- Monitor immunization compliance and follow up as required.
- Implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
- Serve as a resource to school staff on health-related issues, including infection control and emergency preparedness.
- Participate in the development of health policies and procedures for the school.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners to support student health needs.
- Maintain supplies and equipment necessary for health services.
- Attend IEP, 504, and other meetings as needed to support students with health concerns.
- Provide health education to students, staff, and families as appropriate.
