Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support and education to new employees, staff, and students within the department.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, staff updates, and continuing education activities.
  • Support nursing staff with complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans.
  • Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor to nursing staff, enhancing their skills.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership, communicating concerns and feedback effectively.
  • Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and develop interventions to improve care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based standards of care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards through quality audits and reporting.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with staff training.
  • Promote ethical standards, organizational mission, and safety initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in Alaska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in acute care preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Knowledge of clinical practice standards, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and professionally.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
