Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support and education to new employees, staff, and students within the department.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, staff updates, and continuing education activities.
- Support nursing staff with complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans.
- Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor to nursing staff, enhancing their skills.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership, communicating concerns and feedback effectively.
- Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and develop interventions to improve care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards through quality audits and reporting.
- Facilitate the implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with staff training.
- Promote ethical standards, organizational mission, and safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in Alaska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in acute care preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of clinical practice standards, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and professionally.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
