Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate individualized resident care plans in accordance with state standards and facility procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments to assigned residents, ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Monitor residents’ conditions, document care provided, and communicate updates to appropriate medical staff.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and provide assistance to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Safeguard residents’ property, privacy, and confidentiality, while promoting independence and personal choice.
- Use electronic medical records and transfer equipment appropriately, demonstrating safety and competence in all resident care activities.
- Educate residents and their families/significant others about care processes and services.
- Follow safety protocols related to fire, disaster, and department-specific procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current RN licensure for the state of practice.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Basic nursing skills knowledge and understanding of medication effects and side effects.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and resident care documentation.
- Experience operating transfer and mobility equipment such as gait belts, lifts, and slide boards.
