Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Perform assessments, develop individual care plans, and implement prescribed treatments while ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and legal requirements.
• Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing practices, documenting all care accurately and comprehensively.
• Educate patients and their families, providing tailored information to support understanding and engagement in care.
• Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities and shared governance initiatives.
• Apply clinical expertise to support other departments in the patient's ongoing care plan, ensuring continuity and coordination of care.
• Manage complex patient situations with critical thinking, delegate appropriately, and escalate issues as necessary to maintain patient safety.
• Contribute to a positive professional environment, supporting ongoing learning, evidence-based practices, peer review, and professional development.
• Maintain timely patient flow in outpatient settings, respond to telephone inquiries, and perform telephone triage when required.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in critical care.
• Experience in cardiovascular intervention preferred.
• Current RN licensure for Wisconsin or a Compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Successful completion of an EKG test.
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
