Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Blacksburg, VA

Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, 13-week contract, travel

Key Responsibilities:

-Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting, following hospital protocols and unit policies.

-Perform patient assessments, establish treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.

-Administer medications, IVs, and perform procedures such as breathing treatments and conscious sedation.

-Document patient care accurately using the hospital's Meditech system.

-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

-Manage patient flow and ensure safety standards are maintained throughout your shift.

Required Qualifications:

-Active RN license in Virginia or the ability to obtain one.

-BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

-Nursing experience of at least 2 years in an emergency department setting.

-Ability to work night shifts consistently.

-Familiarity with emergency equipment and procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

-NRP certification (preferred but not required).

-Experience with Point of Care labs, cardiac monitoring, and ventilator management.

-Strong clinical skills in emergency nursing and patient assessment.

-Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment with a diverse patient population.
