• Registered Nurse - Oncology

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM), Travel assignment, 13-week duration
Key Responsibilities
• Provide expert nursing care to oncology and hematology patients in a specialized Blood Cancer Unit
• Administer medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements according to unit policies
• Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis
• Monitor patient status and respond to acute needs with quick decision-making and compassionate care
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of oncology nurses and support staff to deliver high-quality care
• Adhere to safety protocols around hazardous drugs and demonstrate proficiency with medical equipment such as telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps
Required Qualifications
• Active RN license in the state of Colorado or appropriate state license for travel
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in oncology or a related acute care setting
• Familiar with EMR systems, preferably Meditech
• Compassionate approach suited for oncology patient population and those with chronic conditions
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to complex hematology procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Certification in chemo and biotherapy preferred
• Experience with step-down units and acute hematology care
• Knowledge of standing orders for fluid management, fever response, and electrolytes
• Skilled in procedures like lumbar punctures, biopsies, and thoracentesis
