Full-time, 13-week contract, onsite, days (Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide circulating nursing support in a busy outpatient operating room setting across multiple specialties.
- Assist with standard outpatient surgical procedures including orthopedics, plastics, ophthalmology, ENT, general surgery, urology, pain management, and podiatry.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, including scrub personnel and relief staff, to maintain smooth operations.
- Follow all unit policies, procedures, and safety standards, including proper use of PPE and scrubs.
- Provide or learn to provide conscious sedation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license to practice in Alaska.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of circulating nurse experience in an OR setting.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Ability to scrub on certain cases.
- Willingness and ability to provide conscious sedation.
- Knowledge of various surgical specialties.
