Tech - Surgical
Location: Santa Fe, NM
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Dayshift
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, handle, and care for surgical instruments and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Support surgeons throughout procedures by maintaining a sterile environment.
- Assist in sterilization and cleansing of surgical tools.
- Adhere to universal precautions and safety protocols to prevent infection and injury.
- Maintain documentation related to surgical procedures and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from a Surgical Technology program preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Surgical Tech certification required.
- Knowledge of instrument care, sterilization procedures, and surgical environment safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital operating room or instrument care required.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous experience working in surgical services or operating room environment.
- Familiarity with bloodborne pathogen protocols and universal precautions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
