Schedule / Job Type
- Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients in a specialized blood cancer unit.
- Administer medications, including blood products and electrolyte replacements, following unit policies.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in patient status promptly.
- Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.
- Adhere to safety protocols around hazardous drugs and handle excreta safely.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience.
- Compassionate and capable of working with oncology and chronically ill patients.
- Quick learner with excellent adaptability.
- Certification in chemo and biotherapy (preferred).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with step-down units and acute hematology patients.
- Skills in administering biotherapy and handling hazardous drugs.
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech.
