Key Responsibilities

• Assist in Cardiothoracic Operating Room procedures, including large-bore IV starts, device setup, and patient prep.
• Support surgical teams with equipment setup, patient positioning, and intraoperative assistance.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols.
• Assist with preoperative procedures such as hair removal, medication administration, and preparing patients for surgery.
• Transport patients to and from the OR and assist during induction, intubation, and skin preparation.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiothoracic (CVOR) surgical setting.
• Critical care experience is required; preoperative experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Strong communication skills and critical thinking ability.
• Proficiency with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Cerner documentation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification.
• Experience performing procedures such as arterial line, central line, and epidural placement.
• Skills in large-bore IV placement, patient transport, and intraoperative assistance.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and equipment.
