Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Cardiothoracic Operating Room procedures, including large-bore IV starts, device setup, and patient prep.
- Support surgical teams with equipment setup, patient positioning, and intraoperative assistance.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintain sterile environment and adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols.
- Assist with preoperative procedures such as hair removal, medication administration, and preparing patients for surgery.
- Transport patients to and from the OR and assist during induction, intubation, and skin preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiothoracic (CVOR) surgical setting.
- Critical care experience is required; preoperative experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Strong communication skills and critical thinking ability.
- Proficiency with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Cerner documentation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification.
- Experience performing procedures such as arterial line, central line, and epidural placement.
- Skills in large-bore IV placement, patient transport, and intraoperative assistance.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and equipment.
