Registered Nurse - IR/Special Procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing IR/Special Procedures within a hospital setting.
• Assist during procedures, monitor patient status, and ensure safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge RNs and IR techs.
• Document patient information and procedure details accurately in EMR systems.
• Follow department protocols and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a 30-minute response time.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license or proof of active application.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Experience in EKG interpretation and drip titration.
• Knowledge of EPIC EMR system and Phillips monitors.
• Ability to work in high-paced IR environment, managing 20-30 cases per day.
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in interventional radiology, ICU, or ED units.
• Experience with vascular procedures, central lines, biopsies, and drains.
• Knowledge of common diagnoses such as GI bleed and strokes.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
