• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with post-op, TAVRs, ablations, heart failure, and ventilated patients
• Titrate multiple IV drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, vasopressors, sedatives, and insulin, following protocols and physician orders
• Monitor and interpret cardiac strips and hemodynamic parameters, utilizing equipment like Swan Ganz catheters, external pacemakers, arterial lines, and CVCs
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond swiftly to emergent situations and provide critical assessments in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining competence across cardiovascular and stepdown care

Required Qualifications

• Valid active Illinois RN license or current license application in process
• Minimum of 2 years CVICU or Cardiac ICU experience, with proficiency in ventilated and complex cardiac patients
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and bedside monitoring skills
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred, CCRN or PCCN a plus
• Ability to interpret ECGs, titrate IV drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedation), and work independently from day one

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CVICU equipment, including Swan Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, and EP procedures
• Familiarity with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Excellent communication, organization, teamwork, and compassion in a high-stress environment
