Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a medical-surgical/neuro unit at a busy Level 7 hospital.
- Monitor and assess neuro and stroke patients, including performing NIH and neuro assessments.
- Administer medications, evaluate patient responses, and utilize equipment such as IV pumps, seizure monitors, BiPAP, and C-PAP.
- Collaborate with a team for patient care planning and ensure adherence to unit policies and guidelines.
- Document patient information accurately using the Meditech EMR system.
- Support patient safety through fall risk and trach care assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Heavy med-surg background.
- NIH stroke certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification.
- Neuro experience, including neuro assessments and procedures.
- Experience with stroke assessments, trach care, feeding tubes, and neuro protocols.
