• Travel, 13-week contract, nights shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Stepdown environment.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin, and monitor patient vital signs.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube placements.
• Conduct hourly rounding during day shifts and every-two-hour rounding at night; utilize communication tools like AIDET and communication boards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and adherence to unit policies.
• Float between PCU units and medical-surgical floors as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation.
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin infusions.
• Peripheral IV placement skills preferred.
• Ability to perform procedures such as chest tube insertion, dressing changes, and trouble-shooting wound vacs.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Peritoneal dialysis experience.
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac cath monitoring.
• Knowledge of oxygen delivery systems, bipaps, and high-flow oxygen.
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes.
