Job Title

• Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

• Travel, 13-week contract, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), working 3 shifts per week, every other weekend required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to ICU/PCU/Stepdown patients, including assessments, monitoring, and documenting patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin, following protocols.
• Manage complex equipment such as bipaps, high-flow oxygen systems, and wound vacs.
• Perform procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, chest tube changes, and NG/dobhoff tube insertions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain accurate documentation in Meditech.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or appropriate state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, and experience with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips.
• Proficiency with peritoneal dialysis, IV insertions, and patient assessments.
• Experience in ICU, PCU, or Stepdown units.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Peritoneal dialysis experience.
• Experience with stroke and post-cardiac catheter care.
• Knowledge of tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes.
• Ability to float between PCU units and med-surg floors as needed.
