Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for oncology patients in a hospital setting
- Administer high-dose chemotherapy, stem cell infusions, blood transfusions, and electrolyte replacements
- Maintain central lines and monitor patient statuses using medical equipment such as mobilab, Welch Allyn vital machine, and Alaris IV pumps
- Adhere to unit policies including strict CLABSI prevention protocols
- Collaborate with a team of nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
- Document patient information accurately in the medical records system
Required Qualifications
- Valid BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an oncology or med-surg setting
- Ability to float to other oncology floors and main hospital units as needed
- Willingness to work night shifts and participate in weekend rotations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology nursing experience, including bone marrow transplants
- Experience with Meditech Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Strong teamwork skills, positive attitude, quick learner, and excellent patient interaction skills
