Key Responsibilities
- Provide postoperative care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a Level I Trauma Center.
- Recover a variety of surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplants.
- Monitor and manage patients with artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive medications.
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, start IVs, and handle IV vasopressors.
- Care for ventilated patients and assist in emergency interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with a specialized PCT/transport team to ensure efficient patient recovery and transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Registered Nurse License (Illinois license required if applicable; Missouri or compact license accepted).
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, Phase I PACU, with skills in dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, IV placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilated patient care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC charting system experience.
- Open to floating within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed.
- Experience with various surgical recoveries, including trauma and transplant cases.
