Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment under nurse supervision.
• Anticipate and respond to the surgeon’s preferences for materials and instruments during surgeries.
• Set up sterile tables and ensure the sterility of instruments and supplies needed for procedures.
• Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and prepare instruments for sterilization within scope of duties.
• Monitor supplies and instruments to maintain sterility and support quality patient care.
• Inventory and manage supply levels, placing orders as needed.
• Develop and implement educational programs or learning aids related to surgical techniques and standards.
• Provide backup support for emergency surgeries when required.
• Participate in departmental committees and other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Current BLS certification.
• Must have or obtain flu vaccination prior to start.
• Must have certifications at time of submission.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 1 year surgical technologist experience preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, and wound healing.
• Skill in sterile technique, patient positioning, and handling intraoperative requests.
