Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the emergency department, collaborating with another RN to manage patient load.
- Perform standard RN procedures such as IV starts and Foley catheter placements.
- Float between medical/surgical, outpatient, and emergency units based on census and staffing needs.
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, including badge-in and badge-out procedures.
- Assist in emergency situations, potentially functioning as charge nurse if certified.
Required Qualifications
- Active license as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota or an equivalent compact state license.
- Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, with a schedule of 3 shifts per week.
- Must have completed orientation training, which can be tailored to individual needs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Critical Access Hospital experience.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced ER environment.
- Ability to function as a charge nurse with all certifications.
- Experience working with Philips telemetry monitors and Lifepak 15 AEDs.
