Job Title

• Sonographer – Echocardiography / Ultrasound

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Days shift, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all routine echocardiograms independently to evaluate heart function and detect abnormalities in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Acquire high-quality cardiac images and measurements, and utilize clinical judgment to optimize imaging.
• Assist with stress and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, progressing toward independence with these modalities under mentorship.
• Complete documentation accurately within the electronic health record system and coordinate with physicians regarding test results.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops, and publications.

Required Qualifications

• 1-4 years of inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience.
• Certification in RDCS or RCS with a specialty in AE, FE, or PE, or CCI credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar.
• High School Diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred (e.g., Bachelor’s in health sciences or accredited cardiac ultrasound program).
• Registration and licensing for NM as a Medical Imaging or Radiation Therapy professional.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system (training available).
• Familiarity with Joint Commission regulations related to the lab.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
