- Full-time, Days, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to ICU patients, including respiratory and post-surgical management.
- Monitor and titrate IV drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, and others, adjusting as needed.
- Care for patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, PEG tubes, and central lines (CVC/PICC/Midline).
- Collaborate with in-house ICU team, including hospitalists, intensivists, and RTs available 24/7.
- Document patient conditions accurately and promptly on Phillips telemetry monitors.
- Follow hospital policies including holiday and weekend rotations, and participate in orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license or active application in process.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with ventilated, sedated, and critically ill patients.
- Proficient in PEG tube care, central line management, and titration of vasoactive and sedation drips.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of ICU protocols for respiratory failure, CVA, trauma, and post-surgical care.
- Experience working with telemetry systems and troubleshooting ventilator and monitoring equipment.
- Ability to titrate and manage complex IV drips, including those for vasopressors, sedation, and pain control.
