Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Contract, 13-week assignment
• Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry patients in a hospital setting.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to arrhythmias or other critical changes.
• Perform cardiac assessments, manage cardiac drips and medications, and assist with post-cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Conduct acute stroke assessments, including NIH stroke scale testing, neuro checks, and dysphagia screening.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Adhere to unit policies and safety protocols, maintaining a compassionate and professional approach.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Texas.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree.
• Prior experience in a telemetry or cardiac unit.
• Familiarity with GE Telemetry monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and feeding pumps.
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical records system.
