Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a Level I Trauma Center
• Monitor and assess patients including ventilation, invasive monitoring, and pain management
• Manage patients with artificial airways, invasive monitoring including ICP, and vasoactive medications
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe recovery and discharge of patients
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system
• Follow hospital protocols for trauma, neuro, orthopedic, vascular, and other surgical recoveries

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri (compact license acceptable if valid in Missouri)
• 2-3 years of recent ICU or critical care experience, including Level 1 Trauma patient care
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Critical care skills such as dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, starting IVs, and blood transfusions
• Experience with ventilated patients, ICP monitoring, and vasoactive drugs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EpIC charting system experience
• Previous PACU or acute post-op recovery experience in a hospital setting
• Strong understanding of surgical specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, trauma, and transplant
• Experience working with adult and geriatric populations
