- Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to telemetry patients, including those with neuro conditions such as CVA/TIA, seizure disorders, and post-surgical recovery.
- Manage post-op recovery for procedures such as Whipple, esophagectomies, and colon resections.
- Monitor and care for patients with vascular issues, including peripheral angiograms and wound care for PAD patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and float to Medical-Surgical units as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in patient assessments, administration of treatments, and ensuring timely interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Illinois Nursing License (IL Lic)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Epic electronic medical record experience
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care telemetry nursing experience
- Travel or neuro telemetry experience preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for stroke/TIA patients, seizure management, and post-surgical recovery
- Ability to adapt to floating assignments across units
- Experience working with post-op patients from complex surgeries such as Whipple and esophagectomy
