Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, days, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as required
• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during each shift
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to coordinate care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting accordingly
• Educate patients and families on discharge needs and ongoing care
• Supervise clinical support staff, including LPNs and non-licensed personnel
• Complete education and competency testing for patient populations, procedures, and protocols as per standards

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large OR setting
• Ability to scrub in surgical procedures
• Valid State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification (required); ACLS and PALS preferred
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Flexibility, teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Epic electronic health record experience (training available)
• Orthopedic, EENT, and/or vascular surgical experience
