Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including assisting with sterile speculum exams, fetal assessments, and delivery procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor central lines such as PICC/CVC lines, administer medications including anticoagulants, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
  • Assist with high-risk antepartum care, including managing conditions like preeclampsia, diabetes, preterm labor, and multiple pregnancies.
  • Support and ensure patient safety during labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including care for fetal demise or neonatal care in NICU.
  • Support bedside procedures and document patient progress accurately and thoroughly.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State or Compact nursing license.
  • Certifications: AWHONN Advanced, BLS, and NRP (required); ACLS (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience, including C-section management.
  • Ability to work in a high-risk antepartum environment and perform sterile speculum exams.
  • Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and managing central lines.
  • Comfortable with supporting sterile procedures and working in a fast-paced obstetric setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in high-risk obstetric units and managing complex cases such as previa, twins, or substance use disorder in pregnancy.
  • Prior travel or floating experience to postpartum units or other high-acuity areas.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a hospital setting.
