Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to inpatient and acute care patients, including evaluations, care planning, and therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Work with geriatric, neurological, stroke, and amputation patient populations.
- Float between units as needed, maintaining flexibility and coverage across departments.
- Perform patient education regarding therapy goals and ongoing care needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Alabama Occupational Therapist License in good standing.
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or Red Cross equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred; at least 18 months under a professional license with 1 year in the relevant specialty area.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Licenses in Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience working with geriatric, neurological, stroke, or amputation patient populations.
- Ability to float across multiple units and adapt to various clinical settings.
