Schedule / Job Type

• Nights, Full-time, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients during each shift
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care in a long-term care, low turnover setting
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, interventions, and responses
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care
• Initiate and document protocols and standards of care, administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Support patient and family education and discharge planning throughout the care episode
• Supervise and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed personnel
• Recognize patient deterioration and respond appropriately in a Med/Surg level environment without direct escalation to ICU

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit
• BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Ability to pass on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) test prior to or during the first week of assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Epic EMR experience
• Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required
• NIHSS certification is preferred
