Key Responsibilities
- Observe, report, and document patient conditions under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Perform supportive, technical, and therapeutic nursing tasks.
- Prepare, administer, and record oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications.
- Support care plans and medication passes under supervision.
- Maintain documentation in computerized charting systems.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program.
- Valid LPN license issued by the State of Alaska (must be maintained throughout employment).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- BRH-approved behavioral emergency response and de-escalation training within three months of hire.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least one year of experience in medication administration.
- Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
Schedule / Additional Details
- No on-call duties; shifts are variable.
- Employees will not work alone.
- Weekend shifts required on a rotating basis.
- Nurse to patient ratio: approximately 1:15 to 1:25 depending on shift.
Unit / Department Info
- Facility with 61 beds, currently 54 occupied.
- Support includes orientation and LTC training at the facility.
- Dress code: scrubs.
