- Shift: Days (3x12-hour shifts), rotating nights (7pm-7:30am or 7am-7:30pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level nursing care in the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units at a major hospital facility.
- Float across various units as needed to meet operational requirements, including day and night shifts.
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Recognize and respond to cardiac rhythms, perform related assessments, and ensure safe medication administration.
- Comply with hospital protocols including participation in orientation assessments such as ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate.
- Work at least every other holiday, supporting hospital staffing needs during peak times.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in a cardiac or stepdown care setting prior to travel.
- Valid Ohio or Compact State Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments with acceptable scores.
- Experience with cardiac rhythm recognition and medication safety protocols.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent experience in PCU/Progressive Care units.
- Travel nurse experience will be considered acceptable for previously gained cardiac stepdown experience.
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records and rating recognition tools.
