Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses.
• Float between departments and/or local locations within a 20-mile radius as required.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and policies.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and meet discharge and education needs.
• Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; ensure staff adherence to standards of care.
• Complete patient population-specific and procedure-specific education and competency assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Current Nursing License in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• PALS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• Pass BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment.
• At least two years of current experience in the PACU or related specialty.
• Minimum one 13-week travel nursing assignment completed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC experience (training available onsite).
