Registered Nurse - PACU

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses.
- Float between departments and/or local locations within a 20-mile radius as required.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and policies.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and meet discharge and education needs.
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; ensure staff adherence to standards of care.
- Complete patient population-specific and procedure-specific education and competency assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nursing License in New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
- ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
- PALS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
- Pass BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment.
- At least two years of current experience in the PACU or related specialty.
- Minimum one 13-week travel nursing assignment completed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC experience (training available onsite).
