Travel, 13-week assignment, Days shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry patients in a medical-surgical unit.
• Monitor patient vital signs, ECG rhythms, and response to treatments using Philips monitors and other equipment.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate and support patients and their families, utilizing effective communication tools such as AIDET.
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and standards of behavior to maintain high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Proficiency in Meditech electronic medical records system.
• Experience with trach and ostomy care.
• Ability to manage patients post-minimally invasive surgeries, gastrointestinal, and general surgeries.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Extensive experience with general surgery procedures, including colectomies, ostomy management, and minimally invasive techniques.
• Experience with complex medical conditions such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, and DKA.
• Strong team-oriented personality with a focus on patient safety, effective communication, and adaptability in busy environments.
• Familiarity with working with interns and residents in a teaching hospital setting.
